Background
This procurement is initiated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to replace windows and enhance weather protection at the Lake City VA Medical Center located at 619 S. Marion Ave, Lake City, FL.

The primary objective of this project is to eliminate deficiencies and improve functionality for the benefit of veterans, visitors, and staff, ensuring improved safety for all facility occupants while maintaining operations during construction.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the complete preparation of the site for building operations, which encompasses demolition and removal of existing windows, as well as furnishing labor and materials necessary for window replacement and weather protection work at buildings 19, 38, 62, 64, 64-2, and 82.

Specific tasks include:
- Abatement and selective demolitions
- Structural construction
- Architectural construction
- Compliance with infection control measures during construction
- Daily removal of debris and maintenance of a clean work area
- Coordination with VA representatives to ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.

The contractor is responsible for all materials delivered and work performed until the project's completion and acceptance.

Period of Performance
The contract period spans from October 7, 2024, to March 31, 2026, with various deductive alternates that adjust the performance period based on specific exclusions from the base bid.
