Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a contract for the renovation of the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to modernize approximately 11,000 square feet of space to improve patient care and comply with pandemic preparedness standards. This renovation will include significant alterations to the existing infrastructure, ensuring that the facility meets current healthcare standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for general construction, alterations, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, and other related tasks as specified in the drawings and specifications. Key tasks include:
- Demolition and removal of existing MEP components, floors, walls, and ceilings within the MICU.
- Construction of new patient rooms, offices, a conference room, staff lounges, M/F locker rooms, a clean supply room, a pharmacy office, work areas, and a HUC station.
- Installation of a new HEPA pandemic filtration system to provide negative pressure in newly constructed patient rooms.
- Coordination with existing services above the 2nd floor deck for plumbing and HVAC connections.
- Rooftop work to install and connect new/existing air handling equipment.

The project will be executed in phases with all work completed within 430 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 430 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed.
