FY26 - CON Replace Water Softener System - Project 671-18-106 (VA-26-00000201)   2

Background
This contract is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 17, to replace the Water Softener System at the Audie Murphy Memorial Veterans' Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

The goal of this project is to ensure the facility's soft water system operates efficiently for domestic water use, medical equipment sterilization, and domestic water heating. This solicitation is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project as outlined in the Statement of Work. Key tasks include:
1. Replacement of the existing water softener system including inspection and decommissioning of the underground brine tank and pump system.
2. Removal of existing solar water storage system and medical gas equipment.
3. Installation of a new water softener system with structural repairs and improvements to the water softener room.
4. Construction of new pier and pad foundations for equipment.
5. Relocation and installation of new medical gas equipment in an adjacent area within the tunnel.
6. Temporary utility management including a temporary water softening system during construction.
7. Compliance with safety regulations including fire protection engineering modifications, environmental protection measures, and daily safety inspections.
