Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail)
This opportunity appears to have a closely related prior contract at the same location (Salem VA Medical Center) under contract 36C24626C0026 awarded to Contego Environmental for $7,592,000. The prior work (“Upgrade HVAC System Phase II”) required site preparation including demolition and removal of existing structures and performing HVAC-related construction in Salem VA Building 143, and the current requirement similarly involves replacing Building 2 air handlers with demolition/removal and electrical and mechanical scope tied to HVAC equipment. The shared VA facility, similar demolition/site-prep approach, and HVAC system upgrade focus suggest the new effort may be a continuation or follow-on within the same broader HVAC improvement program.
