Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the renovation of the 3B ward at the Marion VA Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. The goal of this contract is to enhance patient privacy and improve the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facilities. The project involves comprehensive renovations to ensure that the in-patient care ward meets modern standards while maintaining operational continuity for adjacent care areas.

Work Details
The project encompasses complete demolition and reconstruction of approximately 7,000 square feet of the 3B ward. Key tasks include:
- Demolition of existing structures and systems.
- Renovation of architectural, fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, and security systems.
- Implementation of a carefully coordinated phasing plan to minimize disruption to ongoing patient care operations.
- Development and execution of an infection control plan during construction.
- Installation of temporary HVAC systems to maintain air quality during renovations.
- Compliance with all local, state, and federal codes as well as VA requirements throughout the construction process.

Period of Performance
