Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has issued a solicitation for the Design Build Renovation of the 3rd Floor Cowboy and Other Spaces at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center located in Cheyenne, WY. The project involves renovating approximately 23,000 SF of existing clinical, inpatient, and business service spaces in multiple phases and areas of the facility. The project aims to replace architectural finishes, abate and remediate areas containing asbestos materials and lead-based paint, rectify code deficiencies, and address seismic requirements. The project also includes converting two inpatient unit rooms to single occupancy with private restrooms and various other renovations throughout the facility.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision to complete the renovation project. The scope of work includes multi-phased construction, relocation, storage and move back of VA furniture, equipment, infection prevention plan and implementation, asbestos abatement plan, lead-based paint abatement, air sampling, testing and monitoring throughout construction, noise transmittance measures, seismic requirements implementation, major subfloor repair/replacement, replacement of multiple flooring types, doors, hardware, windows, plumbing fixtures, electrical and plumbing work. The project also involves coordination with owner-provided furniture scope and verification of existing conditions such as code upgrades and accessibility requirements.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the contract is expected to begin approximately in February 2024 with an estimated completion timeline extending over 670 days for construction.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center located at 2360 E. Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
