Swimming Pool Maintenance at VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS)   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking maintenance and repair services for therapeutic swimming pools at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). The contractor is required to provide all management, supervision, labor, parts, material, tools, incidental engineering services, and transportation necessary to perform maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing to keep the therapeutic swimming pools and equipment operating as originally specified by the equipment manufacturer and as designed & commissioned. The contractor is also responsible for obtaining all licenses, permits, and insurance required to perform the work in this Contract. The VA will not provide office space or operational facilities to the Contractor.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide maintenance services six days per week, excluding Sunday, starting at 6:00 PM each day to minimize impact to the pool service. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
The Contractor shall perform services such as skimming water surfaces, brushing of walls and floors, vacuuming pool floors/bottoms, cleaning filters/pump strainers/skimmer baskets, testing water chemistry, adjusting/maintaining chemistry levels, and documentation of all actions performed on the day of the service. The Contractor shall also submit a detailed cost estimate for any required repairs within 2 business days of finding the issue.

Period of Performance
The contract period includes a base period from March 1st, 2023 to February 29th, 2024. Additionally, there are options for four additional periods: Option 1 (March 1st, 2024 - February 28th, 2025), Option 2 (March 1st, 2025 - February 28th, 2026), Option 3 (March 1st, 2026 - February 28th, 2027), and Option 4 (March 1st, 2027 - February 29th, 2028).

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at two locations: Building 5303801 Miranda Ave. Palo Alto, CA 94304 and Building 334795 Willow Road Menlo Park CA 94025.
