Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the Upgrade Fire Alarm System at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center (VAMC). The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. The goal of this contract is to enhance safety and compliance by upgrading the existing fire alarm systems across multiple buildings within the Cincinnati VAMC campus, ensuring that all fire alarm devices are operational and meet current standards.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, materials, permits, labor, and supervision required to perform construction work for the Upgrade Fire Alarm System (Project # 539-22-101). The scope includes:
1. General construction and alterations necessary for the installation of a new fire alarm system in buildings 1, 2, 3, 8, 14, 15, 16, and the parking garage.
2. Demolition and removal of the existing fire alarm system including ceilings and piping.
3. Installation of new fire alarm devices including smoke detectors and pull stations by zone and floor.
4. Conducting testing of the system prior to starting work, during each phase of installation, and at project completion to ensure proper operation of all devices.
5. Work must be scheduled outside normal business hours due to required fire alarm and electric shutdowns.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period ranging from 270 days to 360 days depending on the specific bid item selected.
