Remodel A2South to Cancer Clinic 553-21-100 - Amendment 006   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for the remodel of the A2 South area into a Cancer Clinic at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. This project aims to renovate an existing inpatient ward into a new cancer clinic, which will include a dedicated compounding pharmacy and additional office spaces. The contract is a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, and other necessary resources to complete the work as specified in the contract documents. The scope includes:

- Renovation of approximately 22,000 sq. ft. of existing inpatient ward.
- Demolition down to concrete floors.
- Installation of new insulation.
- Patching concrete floors.
- Coring and cutting openings in concrete.
- Installation of flooring, walls, ceilings, casework.
- Protection of existing linen and trash chutes.
- Installation of new doors, windows, automatic sliding aluminum doors.
- Relocation of pneumatic tube blower.
- Installation of ballistics rated construction.
- Plumbing fixtures and medical gas outlets.
- HVAC systems including air handling units and exhaust fans.
- Electrical systems including lighting controls and data outlets.
- Integration of various systems into the existing facility.

The project will be executed in multiple phases as outlined in the specifications.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the award and complete it within 490 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed.
