Background
The contract is issued by the James J. Peters VA Medical Center located in Bronx, New York. The mission of the VA Medical Center is to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. The goal of this contract is to replace and upgrade the morgue freezers at the facility, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards while maintaining operational continuity during construction.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all necessary professional construction services to complete the scope of work for Project # 526-20-508, which includes:

1. **General Construction**: Replace morgue freezers at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.

2. **Scope of Work**:
- **Phase 1 – Blue Morgue Replacement**:
- Demolition of all interior components down to structural walls, removal of compressor and supporting MEP systems, and rerouting sanitary piping.
- New construction includes increased ceiling height, installation of a chilled water-fed compressor, new floor drains, lighting, electrical controls, and finishes compliant with infection control standards.

- **Phase 2 – Main Morgue Replacement**:
- Similar demolition and new construction tasks as Phase 1 but with larger dimensions for the main morgue.

- **Additional Work**: Installation of a new sink in Corridor G2-61 and ensuring all work complies with NEC, NFPA, VA master specs, and local codes. All work must be coordinated with existing projects to ensure safety and uninterrupted operations.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is estimated to be 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
All construction projects will be performed at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center located at 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, New York 10468.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a complete package including a bid bond and associated documents on correct forms; acknowledgment of all amendments; verification as SDVOSB in the SBA Small Business Search; proof of compliance with VETS 4212 Federal Contractor Reporting; and brand name or equal forms verifying equipment specifications. Additionally, contractors must have a dedicated full-time site superintendent with a minimum of 5 years experience related to electrical/mechanical trade.
