Background
The Syracuse VA Medical Center located at 800 Irving Ave Syracuse, NY 13210 has a need to expand the facility’s MRI services. A new MRI expansion shall be constructed adjoining to the main building and atop an adjacent former parking lot. This expansion also includes renovation within Building 1.

Work Details
The project includes general construction of a building addition of a new MRI expansion. The expansion is approximately 5,800sf on the Ground Floor level and 5,000sf on the Basement level that will house 2 new MRIs. Expansion will include new structure, walls, finishes, electrical, lighting, ceilings, flooring, mechanical equipment, HVAC ductwork and piping, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm and windows as well as required medical gas, nurse call, and all necessary appurtenances and healthcare and administrative support required for an active MRI suite. The work hours are normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8am – 4pm) as well as after normal business hours and weekends will be required to minimize impact to patient care and facility operations.

Period of Performance
The duration of this project is 120 days for submittals and 430 days for construction for a total period of performance of 550 days.
