Description

Network Contracting Office 6 intends to release an Invitation for Bid (IFB) aimed at securing construction services necessary to upgrade the Fire & Storage Room Doors at the Charles George VA Medical Center located in Asheville, NC. All works shall be completed in conformance with Government produced specifications and drawings. Work consists of but not limited to door and frame replacement, adjusting/ replacing hinges, installing door sweeps and astragals, adjusting door closers and latches, and filling in holes in doors, frames, management and performance of construction period services, demolition, submittals, electronic safety and security, thermal & moisture protection, scheduling, quality control, inspection/testing, recording (As-Built) drawings, and project closeout. A Pre-Bid Site Visit is tentatively projected for 16 January 2025 at 2:00PM EST and Potential Bidders are required to RSVP by no later than 12:00PM EST 9 January 2025 via email to quentin.norvell@va.gov. It is the responsibility of the Potential Bidder to confirm receipt of RSVP. It is the responsibility of the Potential Bidders to bring all necessary personnel, inclusive of subcontractors, tooling, and materials necessary to the Pre-Bid Site Visit. The Government will NOT be providing paper copies of any solicitation, solicitation attachments or annexes, specifications, or drawings. The Government will NOT be reimbursing any costs associated with attendance or bid preparation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238350 with a size standard of $19 million. The approximate IFB issue date will be 06 January 2025 with an approximate response date of 06 February 2025. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 IAW FAR 36.204. The IFB will be issued on a restricted basis and will be 100% Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns. However, should this pre-solicitation notice fail to provide adequate socio-economic interest to merit the continued reservation of the set-aside, the projected site visit may be cancelled. If a qualified SDVOSB is indeed interested in this requirement and does plan to attend the site visit, please ensure that your firm s interest in this project is communicated to the POC for this notice by the previously identified RSVP date above. To be eligible for award the SDVOSB must be considered small under the relevant NAICS code and must be registered and verified in the following websites: Veteran Small Business Certification (sba.gov)/. Companies must have the Certified Veteran Enterprise (CVE) seal on their registration to be considered for an award. Potential Bidders are further advised that failure to register in the SAM database will render your firm ineligible for award. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number; recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for timely award. The solicitation will be available only via the Internet at the following address: SAM.gov | Contract Opportunities. For information on how to register your company on SAM.gov | Entity Information, to view or receive updates to this notice. Any amendments to this IFB will only be made available via the SAM.gov website.
