Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of aged and deficient steam lines at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics located at 8495 Crater Lake Highway, White City, OR 97503. The goal of this contract is to ensure the integrity and functionality of the steam and condensate systems critical to the operation of the facility. This Request for Proposals is open to all interested parties and is not set-aside for any specific group.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to replace low pressure steam and condensate lines. Specific tasks include:

- Compliance with detailed requirements in provided drawings and specifications;
- Use of ASTM A193 bolts instead of ASTM A307 bolts for steam and hot water piping systems due to material strength requirements;
- Ensuring a qualified superintendent remains on-site during work;
- Potentially combining the superintendent role with that of the Site Safety and Health Officer if qualifications allow.

The project magnitude is estimated between $2 million and $5 million.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period will commence upon award and will be defined in terms of calendar days as specified in the solicitation documents.
