Description

The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn VAMC was recently confronted with two natural disasters weeks apart from one another. Tropical Storm Henri struck and the remnants of Hurricane Ida inundated the Brooklyn Campus with record breaking rainfall. This resulted in major flooding to the facility causing severe water damage to five critical elevators and requires restoration to return them to a safe and fully operational state to meet patient care need. In addition, this damage impacts the rapid response by medical, police and fire department teams to emergencies. Accordingly, this time sensitive emergency project was awarded to Elevated Technologies, Inc. on November 19, 2021 for $1,956,450.00 under PL 109-461, Veterans First Contracting Act.
