Background
The Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital is issuing this contract as part of its mission to manage the Environment of Care, focusing on the physical infrastructure and operations. The goal of this project is to abate lead paint, mold, and asbestos-containing materials (ACM) from designated areas within the hospital, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Work Details
The contractor will perform selective interior demolition, including the removal of all remaining interior finishes and restoration of spaces as identified in the Scope of Work. Specific tasks include:

1) Full gut demolition of Bldg. 200, Floor 15;
2) Selective demolition in Bldg. 1, Floor 3 - Rm F350;
3) Selective demolition in Bldg. 1, Floor 3 - Rm C307;
4) Selective demolition in Bldg. 1, Floor 1 - Rm C130;
5) Selective demolition in Bldg. 1, Floors 2 & 3 - Rms B209, B313;
6) Selective demolition in Bldg. 1, Floor 2 - Rm D239;
7) Selective demolition in Bldg. 1, Floor 3 - Rm A306.

The scope includes abatement of ACM flooring and mastic, pipe insulation, lead paint remediation, mold eradication, and disposal of hazardous materials per federal and state regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 290 calendar days following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
All work will be conducted at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital located at 5000 South Fifth Avenue, Hines, Illinois.
