Background
The Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) is undertaking Project 531-24-104 to address the existing HVAC conditions in Buildings 23 and 45. The current system utilizes geothermal pumps, piping, and a radiator system for heating, along with aging fan coil units for cooling.

The goal of this contract is to replace these outdated components to enhance the efficiency and functionality of the HVAC system within the medical center, ensuring it meets the needs of its operations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for replacing fan coil units and fin tube radiators throughout Buildings 23 and 45 at BVAMC. This includes installing heat exchangers, pumps, and valves to create a closed heating loop that utilizes raw geothermal water for heating, thereby reducing wear on existing piping and equipment.

New piping will be installed where necessary, with old piping removed. All connections, valves, structural modifications, and accessories must be included in the work scope. The contractor must ensure that all construction activities comply with hospital operations, performing some tasks outside normal business hours to minimize disruption. Additionally, construction safety, infection control, and site security are critical components of this project.
