Work Details
The scope of work includes supplying all labor, supervision, travel, equipment, tools, materials, inspection/testing services, and legal disposal of waste materials to replace Patient Buildings roofs. It involves roofing demolition, substrate demolition, substrate installation, roofing installation, adjustment and protection of rooftop equipment, installation of fall restraint system, lightning protection system, roof drainage system, snow guards, asbestos abatement, and adherence to applicable specifications, drawings, and building codes. The contractor is required to supply a crane lift plan for hoisting materials and equipment to roofs at least 14 calendar days before the lift event. Other requirements include ensuring existing roofs can support loading of bulk material and equipment, complying with OSHA/VA/site-specific safety regulations, working on three unique roof locations simultaneously as identified in the design documents, and coordinating any 'noisy' work with the COR at least 72 hours in advance. The work must comply with local, state, and federal rules and regulations as well as VA technical standards.
