Wide Area Radio System Maintenance Services   2

Background
The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (OSO) is responsible for Telecommunications Management. The goal of this contract is to provide support for the Wide Area Radio System (WARS), which includes planning, acquiring, installing/removing, maintaining, operating, and controlling radio systems and frequencies while ensuring the cyber security of these systems.

The WARS consists of a Master Site, three 24-channel simulcast repeater sites, one five-channel multi-cast site for wide area coverage, and one five-channel stand-alone system for backup. This system supports over 6,000 users across the DOE Oak Ridge Reservation and is critical for security and safety voice communications as well as interoperability with other Federal, state, and local first responders.

Work Details
The contractor will provide skilled personnel to perform various telecommunications support services including:
1. Planning and executing maintenance on the Wide Area Radio System (WARS).
2. Ensuring minimal service downtime for radio communications that support security and emergency management functions.
3. Providing backup communications during any downtime.
4. Assisting in identifying opportunities for system enhancements and upgrades consistent with maintaining telecommunications system environments.
5. Personnel must have or be able to obtain an FCC General Radio Telephone Operator License and demonstrate knowledge in trunked radio systems installation and troubleshooting.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period extending from the effective date until October 31, 2030, with options for extensions through subsequent years.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Oak Ridge Office of the U.S. Department of Energy located at 230 Warehouse Road, Oak Ridge TN 37830.
