Background
The solicitation is for the rehabilitation of the Terreplein and related levels at Fort Wood, Statue of Liberty National Monument, located in New York County, New York. The project aims to address ongoing deterioration and provide long-term protection to the Terreplein and vertical surfaces of the historic Fort Wood, which serves as the base for the Statue of Liberty. The project will protect the foundations of the Statue of Liberty and its pedestal, enhance visitor access, and improve both drainage and accessibility.

Work Details
The work includes the rehabilitation of four levels of the Fort Wood terreplein: below ground level (1P), Terreplein (2P), next tier (2.5P), top tier (3P). The repairs involve addressing damaged stone surfaces, surface drainage, water infiltration, removal and replacement of stone pavers and metal grilles at 2P with snowmelt system and associated infrastructure, removal and reinstallation of existing stone pavers and area drains at 2.5 and 3P, removal of wood benches and built-in raised seating area, installation of new pavers and wall panels at built-in raised area, removal and reinstallation of metal and granite sign bases and trash receptacles, removal and reinstallation of stone cladding and coping stones, stone stairs, handrails, ACM abatement, installation of new flashing and waterproofing systems, snowmelt system with associated infrastructure. Additionally, new concrete slabs, concrete slab repairs, patching, grouting, re-adhering, cleaning, mechanical and electrical improvements are within the scope of work. Bid Options are noted for additional snowmelt system and associated infrastructure at Levels 2 P, 2.5P, and 3P.

Period of Performance
The contract requires that work commence within 15 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed. The contractor is expected to complete the entire work ready for use not later than 580 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed.

The construction projects will be performed at Historic Fort Wood four levels; below ground level (1P), Terreplein (2P), next tier (2.5P), top tier (3P) at Statue of Liberty National Monument in New York County, New York.
