Description

The purposes of this project are partial replacement of concrete seawalls, new concrete sidewalk construction, and installation of new stormwater drainage system including lift station, pumps and controls.
Background
The project, titled 'PEVI 200745 - Restore North and South Seawalls at Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial,' is initiated by the National Park Service. The mission of this project is to restore and enhance the seawalls at Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, which is crucial for safeguarding the site against erosion and stormwater issues.

The goal is to rehabilitate the seawalls, improve the stormwater drainage system, and ensure the site's long-term sustainability.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Rehabilitation and replacement of approximately 1,900 feet of North Seawall and 1,500 feet of South Seawall;
- Upgrades to the stormwater drainage system;
- Relocation of utilities including water, electric, and communications;
- Demolition and replacement of specific sections of the seawalls;
- Raising the elevation of existing wall sections;
- Performing repairs on existing structures;
- Extending the South Seawall along Delaware Avenue;
- Replacing sidewalks along both seawalls;
- Adding a new sidewalk alongside the North Seawall;
- Installing a packaged pump system for stormwater management;
- Adding catch basins, pipes, flap gates at outlets on the seawall;
- Regrading specific areas to facilitate proper water flow.

Additional tasks include site restoration efforts such as turf restoration and installation of interpretive design elements.
