MBIC Boiler Replacement

Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Montana State Office, located in Billings, MT, is issuing a combined solicitation/synopsis for the MBIC Boiler Replacement project. This project aims to replace the existing Patterson Kelly MACH C-450 boiler at the Upper Missouri Breaks National Monument Interpretive Center in Fort Benton, Montana. The goal is to ensure that the new boiler meets the latest LEED efficiency standards and integrates seamlessly with existing building systems.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for management, supervision, labor, supplies, materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the removal, disposal, and replacement of the existing boiler. Specific tasks include:
1. Removal and disposal of the existing Patterson Kelly MACH C-450 boiler.
2. Installation of a new boiler of equivalent heating capacity that meets LEED efficiency standards.
3. Completion of all necessary venting, water piping, gas piping, and condensate drain connections for the new unit.
4. Integration of the new boiler into Johnson Controls Building Solutions' proprietary software system (Metasys).
5. Verification that all control and reporting points are functioning correctly within the HVAC system using Metasys.
6. Conducting testing and balancing (TAB) for the hot water system by a certified third-party testing company. The contractor must comply with various codes including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), IMC (International Mechanical Code), IPC (International Plumbing Code), and IFGC (International Fuel Gas Code).

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from April 17, 2026, to May 15, 2026.
