Background
The United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Denver Service Center has issued a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) for the purpose of conducting market research. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge regarding the types of interested businesses and their qualifications. The NPS will use information obtained through this notice to develop an acquisition strategy. The NPS anticipates conducting a competitive acquisition for this requirement, and the amount of interest or lack thereof to this notice will determine the possibility of a small business or other socio-economical small business set-aside for the solicitation.

Work Details
The goal of this project is to upgrade and replace the electrical system at Kalaupapa National Historical Park in Hawaii. The construction magnitude is more than $10,000,000. The park is rural/remote with limited staging and access outside of the settlement. Access to Kalaupapa NHP is very limited, and all visitors and contractor personnel must be sponsored prior to arrival.

The park's capacity for construction personnel and activities are also subject to restrictions by Hawaii Department of Health and Park operations. The anticipated period of performance is expected to begin in 2022 and be complete in 2024, including any potential weather shutdown. Barge access is limited to the summer months due to open sea surf conditions, tides, and limited barge availability.

The anticipated period of performance for the project is from 2022 to 2024.

Place of Performance
The construction project will take place at Kalaupapa National Historical Park (KNHP), Kalaupapa (Island of Molokai), Hawaii.
