Background
The National Park Service Contracting Operations (ConOps) Central, Nekota Major Acquisition Buying Office is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the removal and replacement of existing doors and windows at Jewel Cave National Monument. This project aims to enhance the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the monument's facilities while adhering to the standards set by the National Park Service.

Work Details
The work consists of selective demolition and removal of existing exterior door assemblies, including doors, storm doors, frames, thresholds, trim, hardware, and adjacent finishes.

New work includes the provision and installation of residential insulated exterior doors measuring approximately 36 inches by 80 inches, along with compatible residential exterior storm doors. The contractor is responsible for verifying all dimensions prior to installation. Door hardware sets must be furnished and installed according to manufacturer requirements and project hardware submittals.

All components will receive joint sealants at perimeter interfaces, with proper surface preparation. Painting and finishing of doors, frames, trim, and related components will follow project finishing standards. Glazing will be furnished and installed where necessary.

The contractor will also remove approximately sixteen existing exterior windows and install sixteen new metal-clad wood exterior window units in various sizes. Installation includes integration with existing weather resistive barriers, replacement of trim as required, application of continuous perimeter sealant for air and watertight performance, and ensuring all components meet altitude requirements for the project elevation of 5500 feet.

Period of Performance
The performance period is anticipated to be 90 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed.

Bidder Requirements
This project is set aside 100% for HubZone Set Asides. Contractors must possess a valid UEI number. Additionally, contractors must comply with Construction Wage Rate Requirements for Jackson County, South Dakota.
