Indian Wells Cyn Rd O&M   2

Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is issuing this solicitation for the Indian Wells Canyon Road operation and maintenance (O&M) project in Inyokern, CA. The project aims to restore the road, which has suffered significant erosion and damage due to Tropical Storm Hilary.

This initiative is part of the BLM's commitment to maintaining public access and safety on federal lands.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, supplies, and materials to complete the following tasks:

1. Site Preparation: Clear loose materials, debris, vegetation, or obstructions; perform proper grading to allow water runoff; remove washboarding; balance cut and fill; ensure optimal moisture content for compaction.

2. Placement (Spread and Compaction): Spread native fill evenly with a grader; ensure proper watering during compaction; achieve proper density through multiple passes with a roller compactor; maintain a final road width of 22 ft (+/-).

3. Environmental Considerations: Control dust, minimize site disturbance, properly dispose of trash and debris, and manage any hazardous material spills according to regulations.

4. Traffic Control: Comply with jurisdictional requirements, protect existing site improvements, maintain access for public and emergency personnel, minimize interference with adjacent facilities, and provide alternate routes if necessary.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is from July 1, 2026, to August 14, 2026.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Indian Wells Canyon Road located in Inyokern, CA.
