Background
The GAOA Forest Road 278 Bridge Structure Replacement project is initiated by the USDA Forest Service, specifically targeting the Green Mountain National Forest. The mission of this project is to replace the existing bridge superstructure and deck to ensure safe and reliable access across the bridge, which is crucial for both local traffic and forest management activities. The goal of the contract is to enhance infrastructure while adhering to environmental standards and regulations.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Removal of the existing bridge superstructure and deck;
2. Furnishing, fabricating, and erecting a new bridge superstructure and deck;
3. Installation of bridge guardrails;
4. Associated road and site work necessary for the completion of the project.

The contractor must provide all necessary personnel, materials, equipment, services, traffic control, and facilities as specified in the attached plans and specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period will commence within 30 calendar days after award and is expected to be completed within 159 calendar days. Construction activities are scheduled to start after June 1, 2025, with all in-stream work required to be conducted between July 1 and September 30, 2025. Final completion of the project must occur no later than October 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The construction will take place at the FR278-0.24 bridge located on the Green Mountain National Forest in Woodford, Vermont, specifically in Bennington County.
