CRIP MC Checks and Lateral 73 Construction   2

Background
The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is issuing this solicitation for the CRIP MC Checks and Lateral 73 Construction project, which is part of the Colorado River Irrigation Project (CRIP). The goal of this contract is to replace the failed Check One structure of Sublateral 73-36, which is critical for maintaining water levels in the irrigation system.

The existing concrete structure failed in July 2023 due to erosion and void formation, necessitating its demolition and replacement with a new structure. The project is located within the Colorado River Indian Reservation in western Arizona.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Demolishing and removing the existing Check One structure;
- Constructing a new check structure downstream from its current location;
- Installing a temporary check structure at the head of a temporary bypass channel to divert canal flows during construction;
- Replacing the existing turnout headgate structure adjacent to Check One.

The work requires expertise in sheet pile installation, irrigation gate installation, concrete structure construction, and earthwork.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 30 calendar days after receiving the award and must complete all work within 750 calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed approximately 5.5 miles south of Poston, Arizona, specifically at the intersection of Mark Road and 10th Ave within the Colorado River Indian Reservation.
