Creston National Fish Hatchery Replace Septic Line   2

Background
The Creston National Fish Hatchery (NFH) is located at 780 Creston Hatchery Road, Kalispell, MT 59901-8239. The mission of the hatchery includes the conservation and management of fish populations. The goal of this contract is to replace the existing septic line from the Hatchery Building to the Sewage Lift Station due to safety concerns regarding potential contamination of local soil and water from failing septic lines that were constructed in 1968.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:

1. Replace the current septic line from the Hatchery Building to the Sewage Lift Station.
2. Remove the existing septic line as necessary.
3. Excavate a trench that is 6 feet deep and approximately 160 feet long from the hatchery building to the sewage lift station.
4. Provide and install a new 4-inch High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, ensuring it is installed at a depth of 6 feet and pressure tested according to local, state, and federal regulations.
5. Install a minimum of two pipe cleanouts, capped with threaded cleanout adaptors at least 12 inches above grade.
6. Install orange fencing around the open trench for safety, with a minimum height of 4 feet and standoff of 12 inches on both sides.
7. Provide all necessary piping and components to connect the new HDPE septic line to both the Hatchery Building septic line and the sewage lift station.
8. Backfill the trench after verifying system operation with designated U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service representatives, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
