Background
The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior (DOI), Denver Service Center (DSC), is soliciting proposals on a full and open basis from all interested businesses having the capability to perform the work described below. The project aims to stabilize and rehabilitate portions of the York River shoreline that have been severely eroded, threatening the safety of motorists and park visitors. The project is design-build and includes pre- and post-construction surveys, clearing and grubbing, repositioning of existing stone, placement of riprap stone to construct rock sills and revetment structures, the placement of geotextile fabric, excavation and filling earthwork, steep slope stabilization with geotextile bags and steel sheet pile wall, planting on the geotextile bag slopes, wetland fill material placement, wetland planting, and any incidental work related to the construction of this project.

Work Details
This project encompasses a portion of the York River shoreline between Williamsburg to Yorktown, including two reaches of approximately 3.1 miles with a total period of performance of 540 days.
Reach 1 extends from Felgates Creek on the west to Indian Field Creek on the east, a distance of about 1.7 miles.
Reach 2 extends from the mouth of Indian Field Creek on the west to the west pier of the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station on the east, a distance of about 1.4 miles.
It is anticipated that a negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and price proposal.
