Background: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior (DOI), Denver Service Center (DSC), is soliciting proposals on a full and open basis from all interested businesses having the capability to perform the work described below. Details: The project is to repair and refurbish the Cape Lookout Lighthouse near Harkers Island, North Carolina. The building structure is approximately 163-ft in height and constructed with multi-wythe masonry construction and a central cast iron stairway leading from the ground level to the watch level (8th floor) where a ladder leads to the cast iron and glass lantern enclosure on top of the structure.

The scope of the project includes:
- Removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of the lantern level
- Removal and reconstruction of the watch level
- Replacement of windows and doors
- Removal of exterior coating
- Repair and repointing of exterior masonry
- Installation of breathable exterior coating
- Repair and repointing interior masonry
- Replacement of electrical and lighting systems
- Repair and refinishing of cast iron stairs, stair support structure, and landings
- Replacement of ventilation system
