Background
The Cape Cod National Seashore is issuing this contract to extend the service life of existing pavement on MacPherson Way, a government-owned roadway located within the town of Eastham, Massachusetts.

The goal of the contract is to perform pavement maintenance through fog sealing and crack sealing to ensure the longevity and safety of the roadway.

Work Details
The project includes the following construction tasks:

1. Base Bid: Fog Seal - Remove surface debris and prepare the surface for fog sealing. This involves cleaning sand and debris along the roadway edge, applying a uniform fog seal over prepared areas, and ensuring protection of curbs, gutters, and swales from contact with the coating material. Small pavement cracks (1/2-inch wide or less) must be cleaned before fog sealing.

2. Option 1: Crack Sealing and Filling - Prepare the area as shown on drawing S-1 for crack sealing and filling.

3. Option 2: Similar to Option 1 but for a different area as indicated on drawing S-1. All materials used must comply with specified standards, including CRAFCO 34-200 sealant or an approved equal. The contractor is responsible for traffic control, public access limitations, and environmental protection measures during construction.
