Yard Work for The Research Vessel Gannet

Background
This Request for Quote (RFQ) is issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for yard services for the Research Vessel Gannet, which operates under the Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary in Savannah, GA.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that the vessel receives necessary maintenance and services to remain operational and compliant with safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, services, tools, materials, parts, and equipment to perform yard work services for the R/V Gannet at its home port located at 10 Ocean Science Circle, Savannah, GA 31411.

Specific tasks include:
1. Engine and Generator Service:
- Inspect two Cummins QSC8.3 main engines and ZF 305-3A transmissions; perform routine maintenance including visual inspections, lab samples of oils, and reporting adverse findings.
- Inspect Cummins 21.5 MKDR generator; perform routine maintenance including visual inspections and reporting adverse findings.
2. Fire-fighting Equipment Service:
- Conduct annual inspection and testing of all portable fire extinguishers; provide new inspection tags per USCG requirements.
- Inspect and test two Fireboy marine extinguishing systems; ensure functionality and provide new inspection tags.
3. Life Raft Service:
- Unship one life raft for inspection by an authorized service company; reinstall after service ensuring correct orientation. Provide written reports of all inspections and services conducted.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is 45 days from the date of award.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the vessel’s home port located at 10 Ocean Science Circle, Savannah, GA 31411.
