Cape Canaveral National Cemetery Phase 2 Expansion Construction   7

Project Description: This project will develop approximately 30 acres for the Phase 2 gravesite expansion at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, providing for an additional 10 years of full-option burial capacity to provide approximately 32,200 gravesites, including both casket and cremation sites in new burial sections. This project will provide the following elements and features: Interment areas (burial sections), including casketed remains of approximately 7,400 pre-placed crypt full casket gravesites, oversized casket section (one burial section) of approximately 300 oversized pre-placed crypt full casket gravesites, cremated remains of approximately 12,300 pre-placed urn crypts with integral headstone support boxes, garden niche, or terrace sites and approximately 12,200 columbarium niches; access roads and parking; grading, drainage, and landscaping; signage and site furnishings; irrigation of new burial sections; correction of infrastructure deficiencies of existing cemetery buildings and retrofit/incorporation of requirements to improve sustainability and reduce energy usage; protected habitat preservation, wetlands, and mitigation; and geographic information system (GIS) site integration extension into the Phase 2 area.
