Background
The James H. Quillen VA Medical Center (JHQVAMC) has a requirement for the construction and replacement of underground sanitary and storm sewer piping as part of the American Jobs Program.

This project aims to enhance the facility's infrastructure by replacing approximately 24,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer piping and 44,000 linear feet of storm sewer piping, along with associated structures such as manholes, curb drains, area drains, and basins.

The contract is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the following tasks:
1. Replace approximately 24,000 linear feet (lf) of underground sanitary sewer piping of various sizes (3” to 24”).
2. Replace approximately 44,000 lf of underground storm sewer piping of various sizes (2” to 42”).
3. Install manholes, curb drains, area drains, and basins in accordance with the Statement of Work, Specifications, and Drawings.
4. Perform demolition, excavation, trenching, directional boring, underground utility identification, backfill, compaction, paving, concrete work, seeding, and additional miscellaneous improvements required to provide a complete and functional underground sanitary and storm sewer system.
5. Ensure compliance with security and infection control procedures outlined in the specifications due to the complex environment of the medical center.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving award notice to proceed and complete it within 485 calendar days.
