Background
The Hampton VA Healthcare System, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a qualified General Contracting firm to provide construction services aimed at improving the exterior areas of the Bldg. 10 Facility Shop Warehouse.

The goal of this contract is to install a concrete pad for vehicle use and a concrete ramp, addressing previous deficiencies in the area.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary for the following tasks:
1. Demolition of existing stairs to create a 12’ x 24” concrete ramp tied into a dock area.
2. Excavation, grading, and preparation of subgrade and gravel base course where necessary.
3. Installation of new concrete in designated sections.
4. Installation of storm piping and raising building rain leaders over approximately 175 linear feet, along with landscaping to redirect water flow through berms and paving wall.
5. Surveying, designing, and laying out a concrete pad approximately 90’ x 24’ in size and 4” in depth with a minimum strength of 4000psi.
6. Design and installation of catch basin retrofits and new catch basins to mitigate surface water issues at specified locations.
7. Implementing traffic management and safety measures during site work.
8. Soil erosion and sediment control for disturbed areas, including touch-up grading for past slabs.
9. Restoration of affected landscaping including retaining walls and disturbed areas.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be completed within 150 days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
Hampton VA Medical Center, located at 100 Emancipation Drive, Hampton, Virginia 23667.

Bidder Requirements
This solicitation is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). Contractors must be registered in the SBA Veteran Small Business Certification Database (VETCERT) as an SDVOSB as of the date of this solicitation. Additionally, contractors are required to furnish performance and payment bonds.
