Background
The project 508-22-102, Renovate Nutrition and Food Service and Freezers, is issued by the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMCATL) in Atlanta, GA.

The mission of this project is to renovate the Nutrition and Food Services kitchen area to enhance operational efficiency while ensuring minimal disruption to patient care during construction. The goal is to provide a modernized kitchen facility that meets current health and safety standards.

Work Details
The work includes comprehensive interior renovations of approximately 13,570 square feet within the kitchen area.

Tasks encompass demolition, interior structural and non-structural metal framing, gypsum board partitions, interior finishes, casework, installation of sprinklers, fire alarms, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, lighting, and electrical work.

Specific requirements include:
- Replacement or upgrade of floors, ceilings, lighting, electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, fire protection and life/safety systems.
- Installation of durable flooring materials that can withstand frequent cleaning and heavy traffic.
- Construction of interior partitions using metal studs and gypsum wallboard with sound attenuation measures.
- Provision of fire-rated walls/partitions for sterilization areas and proper marking of fire exits.
- Replacement of six commercial low and medium temperature walk-in refrigeration units with specific components including aluminum doors and insulation.
- Implementation of a Safety/Infection Control Plan due to the operational nature of the medical center during construction. Asbestos abatement is also required as part of the scope.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 365 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033.
