Background
This solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 17, to renovate Building 62 AC Shop at the Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Medical Center located in Temple, Texas. Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and testing services required to complete the renovation of Building 62 AC Shop. The scope includes reconfigurations of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other systems as specified in the construction documents. Key tasks include:
- Coordination with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for any system disabling at least 10 working days in advance.
- Relocation and temporary installation of utilities and controls such as telephone, data, electrical systems, emergency power, AV alarms, smoke detectors, sprinklers heads, card readers, etc.
- Compliance with all applicable regulations including Department of Veterans Affairs Master Specifications and OSHA standards.
- Demolition and renovation work must occur with minimal disruption to adjacent workspaces; debris must be recycled where possible.
- Housekeeping must be maintained throughout the project duration.
- Fire watch provisions for impairments lasting more than four hours.
- Security measures including wearing visible badges at all times on VA property.
- Compliance with infection control requirements including particulate counts every eight hours at HEPA filter discharge.
