Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Caribbean VA Healthcare System in VISN 8, servicing Puerto Rico (PR) and the Virgin Islands (VI), has a requirement for ongoing facilities construction. This includes new square footage construction, alterations, and repairs of buildings and structures related to civil, mechanical, plumbing, structural, electrical, roofing, site work, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).

The contract will cover various VA Medical Centers in PR and VI including Arecibo VA Clinic, Ceiba VA Clinic, Comerio VA Clinic, and others. The goal is to provide comprehensive construction services to enhance healthcare facilities in the region.

Work Details
The work under this contract includes:
- Construction of new facilities and structures.
- Alterations and repairs to existing buildings.
- Civil works including site preparation and grading.
- Mechanical installations such as HVAC systems.
- Plumbing work including installation and repair of plumbing systems.
- Structural work involving reinforcement or modification of existing structures.
- Electrical installations including wiring and lighting systems.
- Roofing services for maintenance or replacement of roofs.
- Site work which may include landscaping or paving.

The contract allows for both design-bid-build and design-build task orders.

Period of Performance
The ordering period for this IDIQ MATOC is five years from the date of contract award.
