Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 2 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, is issuing this solicitation for the Brick Façade Cleaning and Repairs project (Project No. 630-21-102) at the Margaret Cochran Corbin VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to enhance the structural integrity and aesthetic appearance of the brick facades across all buildings at the medical center, ensuring compliance with VA design guidelines and requirements.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the Brick Façade Cleaning and Repairs. The scope includes:

- Cleaning brick surfaces of environmental pollution;
- Specific cleaning to remove stains, algae, graffiti, and efflorescence;
- Painting specified surfaces;
- Installation of pintle anchors with stainless steel wire;
- Installation of mortar netting;
- Scraping and painting relief angles;
- Brick replacement;
- Repointing;
- Window caulking;
- Anchor repairs; and
- Setting up work perimeter protections.

The work shall be divided into three categories:
1. Brick Cleaning and Finishes Items,
2. Brick Repair Items and Other Repair Items,
3. Protection Areas.

Each category includes specific tasks such as general cleaning, painting concrete and metal surfaces, providing and installing anchors and mortar netting as specified in the contract drawings.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is 720 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Margaret Cochran Corbin VA Medical Center located at 423 East 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010.
