Background
The project involves the construction of a new 17,476 square foot Police Building at the West Los Angeles Healthcare Center (WLAHC) of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLAHS).
The site is located in a historical district, necessitating compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and VA Historical Preservation Guidelines.
The goal of this contract is to provide contractor services necessary for the construction of the New Police Station, including labor, materials, construction equipment, technical skills, and transportation.
The contractor will also conduct due diligence work such as site surveys to verify existing conditions.

Work Details
The scope of work includes general construction for a new 17,476 square foot VA Police Station along with associated site and utility improvements.
Specific tasks include:
- Construction of a new building totaling 23,000 square feet with 5,000 square feet over the target area.
- Site development including visitor and controlled access staff and patrol parking for 25 vehicles.
- Compliance with historical preservation requirements.
- Provision of all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and technical skills.
- Conducting site surveys to verify as-built conditions.
Alternates include:
1. Deletion of aluminum sun shade system at exterior windows.
2. Deletion of access controls and electrical/data provisions at specified doors.
3. Deletion of landscaping and irrigation work as noted on landscape drawings.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the West Los Angeles Healthcare Center located at 11301 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90073.
