Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 2 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY, is seeking general construction services for the B-1, F-13 Roof Replacement Project No. 561-23-700 VA NJ HCS. The goal of the contract is to urgently replace the damaged and leaking roofs at the VA NJ Health Care System, East Orange, NJ.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish professional construction services including all labor, supervision, equipment, and material to fully remove the existing roofing assembly and to install a well-insulated, well-draining, code-compliant, cold-applied, low-odor, multi-ply roofing assembly with a durable surfacing. The roof area to be replaced is approximately 5,500 square feet. The work includes general construction, alterations, replacement and necessary removal of existing roof covering and insulations down to the roof deck, structures and construction and certain other items.

The contract period of performance for base bid construction shall be 150 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
