Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this contract for elevator upgrades in multiple buildings at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. The goal of the contract is to modernize and upgrade elevators to address identified deficiencies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and codes. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, supervision, and labor for the project.

Work Details
The contractor shall supply all materials, supervision, and labor to complete Project 679-22-100 Elevator Upgrades in Buildings 1, 2, 5, 38, 135, and 137 per contract drawings and specifications. Work includes:
- Replacement and removal of elevator components
- Modernization, renovation, and upgrading of various elevators
- Maintenance and testing of elevators during construction while working on at least one elevator in each group
- Guarantee Period Services (GPS) for a period of one year after acceptance by the VA for each elevator group
- Compliance with ASME 17.1-8.6, OSHA standards, NFPA and NEC codes
- Adherence to VA safety rules and regulations throughout the project.

Period of Performance
The period of performance includes a total of 608 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) for construction completion. Guarantee Period Services shall be provided concurrently with each elevator group's warranty for a duration of 365 days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
