Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this contract to address critical infrastructure deficiencies at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. The primary goal of this contract is to correct failing sanitary sewer, water main, and fire protection systems to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

This project is part of the VA's ongoing commitment to maintain and improve healthcare facilities for veterans.

Work Details
The contractor is required to supply all materials, supervision, and labor necessary to complete Project 679-21-102, which involves the repair, replacement, upgrade, or improvement of existing domestic water mains, sanitary systems, storm drains, and fire piping throughout the campus.

The work will encompass both interior and exterior building components and will require expertise in multiple trades including plumbing, electrical work, general construction, fire piping installation, HVAC systems, and other related tasks. Compliance with VA safety regulations as well as adherence to NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is mandatory.

The contractor must also ensure that all employees have tested negative for Tuberculosis prior to working on-site and that supervisors have completed a 30-hour OSHA course while subcontractors must complete a 10-hour OSHA course.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is set for 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center.
