650-345 Expand/Renovate Space for New MRI

INTRODUCTION:

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build (DBB) for project number: 650-345, Expand and Renovate Space for New MRI at the Providence VAMC in Providence, RI, 02908.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Project Description: The Providence VAMC is seeking a general contractor to completely prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures/equipment, and furnish labor and materials and perform other work for the expansion and renovation of space for the new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Laboratory suite at the Providence VAMC in Providence, RI.

This project shall include, but not be limited to general construction, alterations, civil site work, finishes, HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, fire alarm, suppression and security system, including other items as contained within the construction documents. Project is for the expansions and renovating of the two-story MRI center with a total area of 17,178 GSF. This estimate is for the construction of 15,293 SF of new MRI Labs and 1,885 SF of renovated waiting and reception area. The project scope includes the renovation of existing space and a construction of a new addition. The estimate will encompass all the 33 divisions CSI format.

ADMINISTRATIVE:

The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Small Business Set-Aside. Offers received from other than Small Business concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $45.0 million. The solicitation will be issued around early May 2025. The period of performance is approximately 600 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This pre-solicitation notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $20,000,000.00 and $50,000,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to Gabriel.escarciga@va.gov.
