Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) is seeking a contractor to prepare the site for construction and coordinate all demolition and construction activities for the structural repair of Building 102 and 103 connections. The project scope of work includes drainage improvements, waterproofing, repair and corrosion mitigation of structural beam connections, and installation of new fireproofing. The work will take place at the parking garage and exterior area of the Portland VA Medical Center located at 3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Rd., Portland, OR 97239.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, equipment, supervision, and resources necessary to complete the specified tasks. This includes completing drainage improvements and waterproofing for three bridge connections, as well as repair and corrosion mitigation to the structural beam connections. The work also involves building temporary barriers around each of the three work areas to avoid disruption of daily traffic during hospital hours. The contractor must commence work within 10 calendar days after receiving Notice to Proceed (NTP) and adhere to a Period of Performance (POP) of 180 calendar days, which includes 45 days for submittals and 135 days for construction work.
