Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this contract for the Upgrade Elevators Phase II project at the New Jersey VA Medical Center, East Orange Campus. The goal of this contract is to modernize and upgrade the elevator systems within the facility to enhance operational efficiency and safety, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital services during construction.

Work Details
The project involves upgrading and modernizing a total of 10 elevators located in Buildings 1, 2, 5, and 7, including their respective Elevator Equipment Rooms. Specific tasks include:
- Upgrading HVAC systems and lighting in the elevator equipment rooms.
- Modernizing elevators in Building 1 (7 elevators serving various floors), Building 2 (1 elevator from basement to 3rd floor), Building 5 (1 elevator from 1st to 2nd floor), and Building 7 (1 elevator from basement to 3rd floor).
- Phased work approach to minimize service interruptions and maintain hospital operations without major repairs needed for serviced elevators in the near future.
- General construction tasks include alterations, removal of existing structures as necessary, and installation of electrical devices related to the elevator modernization.
