Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the construction of Expand Sterile Processing Services (SPS) project located at 3001 Green Bay Rd., North Chicago, IL 60064. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Captain James A. Lovell FHCC is seeking a general contractor to prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the Expand Sterile Processing Service (SPS) project consistent with provided Drawings and Specifications. Contractor work includes but is not limited to site work, relocating an access road, and constructing a new mechanical penthouse and pipe sub-basement for the new addition. This phased activity must minimize impact to SPS operations that will be occurring during construction. Close coordination is required between the contractor and government to optimize and execute phased construction, commissioning, and activation activities. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a size standard of $45 million. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in June 2024. The period of performance is approximately 730 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of construction is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. This notice is not a request for competitive offers.
