Background
The Canandaigua VA Medical Center (VAMC), located at 400 Fort Hill Avenue, Canandaigua, NY 14424, is a campus comprising more than 30 buildings spread over 150 acres. The facility's mission includes providing healthcare services to veterans. The VAMC has established a requirement to upgrade the HVAC system in Building 118 (Engineering Building) to enhance operational efficiency and comfort within the facility.

Work Details
The scope of work involves the replacement of existing fan coil units (FCUs) in Building 118 and includes the following tasks:
- Mechanical: Replacement of existing FCUs, installation of new mechanical equipment including a dedicated outside air unit (DOAS), air handling unit (AHU), and an air-cooled chiller, along with necessary components such as ductwork, variable air volume (VAV) boxes, hydronic piping, pumps, coils, and heat exchangers.
- Structural: Investigative services including soil boring and ground penetrating radar (GPR) to locate underground structures; construction of concrete piers and structural steel dunnage for new HVAC equipment; and a new concrete pad for the chiller.
- General Construction: Architectural tasks such as removing/replacing ceilings, roof access ladders, creating/repairing openings, and restoring finishes; exterior work including pouring concrete pads and landscaping.
- Electrical: Upgrading incoming electrical service to 500 amps; installing new electrical feeders for mechanical equipment; replacing lighting fixtures with new LED layouts; modifying fire protection systems for compatibility with new construction.
- Hazardous Material Abatement: Safe removal of hazardous substances including asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based materials prior to construction activities.

Period of Performance
The total project duration is 300 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP).
