Description

Project 679-20-104 - EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades - Construction - Tuscaloosa, AL Solicitation

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Project 679-20-104, which focuses on EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center (VAMC).

The mission of this project is to enhance the infrastructure necessary for efficient healthcare delivery, ensuring that the facility meets modern standards and operational requirements. This contract aims to provide comprehensive upgrades to various systems within the facility, thereby improving overall functionality and safety.

Work Details
The contractor is required to supply all materials, supervision, and labor to complete Project 679-20-104 as per contract drawings and specifications. The scope of work includes:
1. Demolition and installation of electrical systems including panel upgrades, normal and emergency power, bonding, UPS, and overhead power distribution in a new Data Center.
2. Integration of Building Management System interfaces.
3. HVAC system upgrades and expansion/renovation of existing spaces.
4. Communication upgrades including installation of data outlets, patch panels, and Cat 6A cabling.
5. Physical security enhancements across the campus.
6. Construction of a new fiber infrastructure backbone campus-wide and between buildings.
7. Installation of a diversified path to the new Data Center for WAN connectivity.
8. Hazardous material abatement.
9. Demolition of Greenhouse Building 101, including removal of all existing utilities and site features.
10. Construction of New Data Center Building 151 involving civil site work, mechanical enclosures, sidewalks, grading, drainage systems, utility connections, landscaping, signage, and installation of gravity sewer pipes with manholes.
11. New physical security features such as reinforced concrete walls and bollards.
12. Work will also involve demolition and replacement of various site hardscapes including asphalt roads and concrete sidewalks.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center located at 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
