Background
This solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Renovate 6B for Outpatient Mental Health project at the James J. Peters DVA Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive construction services to renovate the facility in accordance with specified drawings and regulations, enhancing mental health services for veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for general construction tasks including: demolition of existing structures, asbestos abatement, installation of new interior partitions, fire protection systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, and electrical work.

Specific tasks include: total demolition of interiors, removal and replacement of interior partition systems with new metal stud walls, installation of acoustical panels in exam and consultation rooms, modification of sprinkler systems per NFPA standards, complete plumbing system overhaul including medical gas work and water distribution systems, and installation of a new Variable Air Volume (VAV) air handling unit.

All work must comply with local/state/federal codes and VA directives.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 600 calendar days from the receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the James J. Peters DVA Medical Center located at 130 W. Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY 10468.
