Description

This is a Design-Build (DB) project for certain renovations on two existing floors in the main hospital building. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, design, supervision and incidental related costs for certain renovations including, but not limited to, demolition of existing construction (as needed) and re-construction of existing 7th floor interior spaces into three (3)operating suites, post-op recovery, waiting room, and support spaces; demolition of existing construction (as needed) and re-construction of existing 8th floor interior spaces into individual intensive care patient rooms with private restrooms, staff support areas, and nurse stations; installation of a new hydraulic elevator; completion of elevator penthouse construction; correction of 8th floor building envelope and roofing components as required; and mold remediation. Beneficial Occupancy of 7th floor is desired as soon as possible. Contractor will adhere to VA TIL requirements for the design and construction efforts.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Design-Build project aimed at renovating two existing floors in the main hospital building at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center (OKVAMC).

The goal of the contract is to construct a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and renovate operating rooms, which aligns with the VA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, design, supervision, and incidental related costs for renovations including:
1. Demolition of existing construction as needed and reconstruction of the 7th floor into three operating suites, post-op recovery areas, waiting rooms, and support spaces.
2. Demolition of existing construction as needed and reconstruction of the 8th floor into individual intensive care patient rooms with private restrooms, staff support areas, and nurse stations.
3. Installation of a new hydraulic elevator and completion of elevator penthouse construction.
4. Correction of the 8th floor building envelope and roofing components as required.
5. Mold remediation efforts. The contractor must adhere to VA Technical Information Letter (TIL) requirements throughout the design and construction process.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is set at 540 calendar days following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center located at 921 NE 13th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
